It's nice to have a list of users on the side of the screen. It's cool to have bells and lines drawn in to help you see what you've missed. But I don't want to spend all the time it takes to configure or learn these programs. I just want something that will barf text onto my screen, and let me talk to multiple people. sic is easy. sic is simple. I don't need to figure out a bunch of weird crap. It just works. The man page is short because it doesn't do a lot. I can read it in a couple minutes and know everything I need to know. Try that with irssi or weechat.
